Existing vegetation is retained and maintained, while new plantings consist of pollution resistant shrubs and perennials suited to difficult traffic conditions. Heavily exposed zones exclude lawns, as turf cannot be sustained in such locations, while more protected spaces allow the introduction of open green surfaces.
